About this umbrella

Most compact umbrellas save money on the handle. This one is finished the way a full-length umbrella would be: a turned solid wood handle, a leather wrist strap and brass-tone hardware, on a folding frame that still fits a bag.

The mechanism is fully automatic — one press to open, one to retract — over a reinforced ten-rib fibreglass frame with a water-repellent, UV-coated canopy. A snap-close travel sleeve is included so a damp umbrella can be carried without soaking the inside of your bag.

Wood asks for slightly more care than plastic: dry the umbrella open, wipe the canopy with a damp cloth, and avoid leaving the handle sitting in water. Treated that way the grain darkens gently over years rather than swelling or splitting.
